Administrative / biographical background:

Richard Hodkinson of Atherton was agent to Miss Henrietta Maria Atherton of Atherton Hall from 1792 to 1797, the date of her marriage to the Hon. Thomas Powys, afterwards 2nd Baron Lilford. Richard Hodgkinson then acted as agent for Lord Lilford. His period of services amounted to nearly than 50 years. (1792-1937)
