Court baron held 17th April, 1599; Michael Berisforde esq. in right of his wife Dorothy lord of three parts of the manor; Lady Katherine Burgh, Kenelm Willoughby, gent., John Courthope, gent. among those in mercy for non-attendance; records death of Henry Streatfeild who held a croft of land called Little Thelgate, and 4a. of land in Great Thelgatefield in Chiddingstone; at a rent of 6d. p.a., the bailiff has seized an ox as heriot, Richard Streatfeild is heir and the bailiff ordered to distrain for relief; George Saxbies fined for not executing the office of bailiff; Henry Piggott chosen for the current year and Kenelm Willoughby gent. for the next; homage to enquire what property Thomas Willoughby held of the manor at his death
