The records have been treated throughout as one unit, labelled in them are items dating from the days of the Boards of Guardians, and efforts to re-classify the series making the 1930 watershed would lead to greater confusion than to retain the classification system normally adopted for records of the Boards of Guardians for the administration of the Poor Laws.
