This collection contains deeds and papers of the Hewett family of Titchfield, Hampshire and also of the Anderson family of the same parish. The two families were linked by the marriage in 1870 of James Hewett, then of Postbrook, Titchfield to Agnes Frances Anderson daughter of Captain James Anderson, R.N., then of Westbury House, Titchfield.

 

Some of the documents in the collection relate to the Stares family of Titchfield and the Marshall family of Gosport, Hants, (to both of which the Hewett family was connected by intermarriage) and to the Brett family of Bishop's Waltham, Hampshire (to which the Anderson family was connected by intermarriages)
