24 June 1879 (i) Francis Edward Smith of Crediton, Devon, gentleman (ii) John Newcombe of Crediton, gentleman (iii) Charles Philip Morant of Taunton, Somerset, esquire (iv) Reverend Thomas William Whale of Dolton, Devon, clerk in holy orders Recites will of George Morant the younger late of Shirley House, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Ireland esquire who died 7 September 1874 Recites Assignment dated 5 June 1878 whereby Charles Philip Morant assigned the legacy of £2500 (to which he was entitled under his father's will) to Francis Edward Smith as security for £800 and interest; by deed, of 2 January, 1879 and 18 March 1879, the further sums of £70 and £30 were charged on the legacy By another Assignment dated 12 November 1878 the legacy was charged with a further £100 lent to Charles Philip Morant by John Newcombe Recites that Charles Philip Morant has agreed to sell the legacy to Thomas William Whale for £1305 of which £900 is to be paid to (i) and £100 to (ii) |
