A Strip of freehold land on the east side of Southgate Street consisting partly of a courtyard for 8 Chernocke Place, with the wall and other constructions there and bounded by the freehold premises of John Cave on the south and property B on the north and south By 1905 this strip is described as in front of 47 Southgate Street

 

B Dwellinghouse with outbuildings, garden and premises adjoining being 8 Chernocke Place South, Southgate Street now occupied by Charles Walters and bounded by a house, garden and premises at 7 Chernocke Place South belonging to Thomas Waters on the north, the premises of John Cave on the south, a wall and garden being part of Thomas Waters' leasehold premises on the east and partly by the street and partly by A on the west

 

This property is leasehold. It is the same property as that comprised in a deed of 9 Sep 1845, except that part which was sold to Sarah Mant (5 Chernocke Place South)

 

Conveyance of A and assignment of B, 7 Nov 1857

 

(i) John Pain of Houghton, esq (mortgagee)

 

(ii) Thomas Waters of Winchester, gent

 

(iii) Rev Charles Walters of Winchester, clerk and his trustee

 

Consideration: £1000 paid by (iii) to (i) in part discharge of mortgage debt owing to him (as explained in recitals)
