William White, labourer, and his brother Thomas deposed that they saw a dog pointing at a ditch, Mr Bush, attorney, threw something and flushed a pheasant. He and the accused both shot at it and ran to a corner of the field, where James Cole reloaded the accused's gun.

 

Defendant pleaded not guilty, but offered no defence.

 

Fined £5, to be divided equally between the informant and the poor of Yate.
