The Rev John Hall, who came to Macclesfield in 1821 was the first to attend to Catholic needs in Bollington. At first services were held in a cottage in Bollington, a second cottage serving as a school; the church was built in 1834 on a site given by a protestant, Mr Turner of Shrigley Park. |
