Administrative / biographical background: |
The property was originally owned by the London and North Western Railway (L.N.W.R.). Between 1923 and 1947 this became the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (L.M.S.R.) and then the London Midland Region of British Railways after nationalisation in 1948. Many plans bear the stamp of the estate offices at Rugby and Euston. |
