Made on [date above] between Christopher Kedgwin and John Eglesfield, Aldermen; John Doughty, mercer, and Henry Hobson, vintener, late Sherives; Oliver Snell, mercer; John Sharpe, barber; George Holmes, mercer; Thomas Hurte, grocer; Thomas Griffith, goldsmyth; and Henry Kedgwin, grocer; parishioners and feoffees of All Saints': and

 

Michaell Threlkeld, now Master of the Company or Society of Taylers; Richard Reece; Samuell Willett; William Busher; John Cole; Thomas Cowley; Robert Curtis; Edmond Saunders; and John Watkins; taylers, all of the Company and feoffees of its lands:

 

[Recites] A suit is now depending in His Majesty's High Court of Chancery by English bill between the parties, concerning a yearly rent of 26s. 8d. which All Saints' feoffees, plaintiffs, demand from a house commonly called The Taylers Hall in Broadstreete, part of the Company's lands. The rent was previously part of the inheritance of Roger Kemys Esq, deceased, among other lands and tens. The same bill mentioned that for good cons. in money part levied and raised among the parishioners and inhabitants of All Saints, and part disbursed out of the church stock, by good and sufficient conveyance in law granted to the present feoffees of the church:

 

For a full end and determination of the suit and all controversies over the rent, the parties agree that the Company covenant to pay the rent yearly, by the Master of the time being on its behalf, beginning next Michaelmas.

 

The parties agree to bear their own costs already paid in the suit. No advantage is to be had or taken by either party over any future costs. Any previous rent due up to Michaelmas last is to be forgiven. For more certain payment, the Company grant and confirm it to All Saints' feoffees for ever. Feoffees' right to enter and distrain if the rent is more than twenty days in arrear.

 

Note of interchanged signing and sealing on day and year above, (1619).
