Administrative / biographical background: |
The firm was founded in 1816, a relatively early date, when Robert Fletcher set up his business as a public accountant in Bristol. Records have survived from 1819, the earliest being Robert Fletcher's own cash books, ledgers and time books. In 1845 the firm became Curtis, Jenkins and Co and in 1920, Curtis, Jenkins, Cornwell and Co. In 1966 the firm joined a major national accountancy firm, Cooper Brothers, now Coopers & Lybrand. |
