Senior Conservation Manager - Treatment
About
Giorgia is Senior Conservation Manager in the Collections Care department at The National Archives. She is particularly interested in how heritage science and hands-on conservation come together to inform better conservation outcomes.
Research activity
Giorgia's research focuses on investigating the materiality of The National Archives' collections and on developing treatment methodologies and conservation approaches.
She is currently engaged in a project examining the application of Nano Collagen for the consolidation of deteriorated parchment. She is also exploring the potential of laser cleaning as a minimally invasive technique for treating damaged parchment.
