Events FAQ

Online events

How do I access the live event?

We use Microsoft Teams to run our online events.

To access the live event, click on the link in the confirmation email you received when you booked (this will have come from Eventbrite). MS Teams will launch in your web browser – or the app if you have it – and you can join anonymously to watch the live event.

The live event link isn’t working

We recommend using a laptop or PC to view the events, rather than a mobile device.

If you are using an iPad or iPhone to view the event, you should download the MS Teams app as you won’t be able to join from Safari on your phone. The Safari browser should however work on laptops and PCs. If you have the app on your Apple device, it should launch there automatically.

You don’t need to have an MS Teams account to view the event, and can choose the ‘join anonymously’ button if preferred. The event is recorded, so you can log in to watch it at any time up to 48 hours after the event.

Do I need to download the MS Teams app?

The only time you need to download the app is if you are joining from a mobile device, such as an iPhone or iPad.  Otherwise it should work in a browser.

I missed the live event, how can I find a recording?

A recording is available for 48 hours after the event. To access this, you should click the link in the confirmation email you received when you booked – feel free to skip the first minute of the recording, which features an introductory test slide.

The recording isn’t working

If you are trying to join from a mobile device, you should download the MS Teams app. If you are joining from a laptop or PC and the recording still isn’t working, please refresh the page and skip the first minute of the recording.

Accessing the recording after the 48-hour window

We make recordings of the talk available for 48 hours only after the published time of the talk, unless otherwise stated.
