Join Paul Dryburgh, collections specialist in medieval records at The National Archives, as he explores English military success and failure from 1277 to 1453.
This was a time when the crown pursued expansion and dynastic claims across the British Isles and into the Kingdom of France. But the ever-present threat of conflict between the competing powers, climate crises and epidemic catastrophes ensured attention could not slip away from peacemaking too.
