William of Normandy’s conquest of England and the actions of his successors brought revolutionary changes to society, law, language, culture, many of which remain with us to this day. The conquest also ushered in centuries of conflict on the borders of Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

Join medieval collections specialist Paul Dryburgh as he explores the impact and legacy of the Norman Conquest in the century or so after the Battle of Hastings. He’ll be investigating some of the key sources that provide fascinating insights on this turbulent period of history which changed the British Isles forever.
