Mission summary
Under the tutelage of the Chief Timer herself, this free online adventure will see you complete five exciting challenges highlighting records, photographs and stories from The National Archives’ collection.
The Ministry is looking for recruits of all ages, and two heads are better than one, so this family mission is best played together! Children under 18 years of age must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times whilst playing.
You can play the mission onsite at The National Archives in Kew at the Ministry’s temporal offices, or in the comfort of your own home. On average it takes around 50 minutes to complete.
What you will need
- A WiFi connection
- A desktop computer, laptop or tablet
- A smartphone connected to WiFi or on a data plan or with at least £1.00 credit
- Paper and a pen or pencil
Playing details
The Ministry of Time Travel is an interactive experience that requires the use of an adult’s desktop computer, laptop or tablet. It was not made to play on a smartphone but you will need one to help you complete the mission.
The mission play will take about 50 minutes but can vary in length due to players’ speed and age. It can also be split into two and you will be offered the choice halfway through the mission when you are given a password that allows you to leave the mission and carry on later at a time that suits you.
The game is best played with two to four players, and a responsible adult must be present throughout the game. While it was created with those aged eight to twelve years in mind, younger or older siblings are always welcome to play at the discretion of guardians.
