Interim Director of People, Inclusion and Change

About

Hannah is currently sharing the role of Interim Director of People, Inclusion and Change with Lucy Windmill, following the departure of Andrea Metcalf in September 2025.

Hannah is responsible, with Lucy, for delivering our commitment to further strengthen our culture and approach so that we continually strive to better reflect and represent the society we serve. She is focused on developing and leading our People strategy, further strengthening our employee value proposition and building a more representative workforce, which sets a strong example and influences change across the archive sector.

Hannah has 25 years of experience in HR across the private, public and charity sectors, including as Head of HR at the Royal National Institute of Blind People and Deputy Director of HR and Organisational Development at Capital City College Group. She joined The National Archives as Head of HR and Business Partnering in 2023 and was formerly Head of HR Business Partnering at the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. Hannah has led teams across a range of HR disciplines including Reward, Learning and Organisational Development, HR Systems, Payroll, HR Operations and Business Partnering.

She has a BA Joint Honours in French and German from the University of London and an MSc in Human Resource Management.
