Built on part of the Wirral Union site at Clatterbridge. The constituent authorities including the local councils for Noylake and West Kirby; Bebington and Bomborough; Neston and Parkgate; Ellesmere Port and Whitby; and the Wirral rural and urban districts. The hospital was transferred to the Central Wirral Hospital Management Committee in 1948 and incorporated into Clatterbridge Hospital.
