Other information

The hospital was opened by the Town Council in 1883 at Milton and up until 1934 was sometimes known as the Milton Hospital. In 1960 the name was changed to Priorsdean Hospital. In 1967 it was absorbed by St Mary's Hospital, physically becoming the east wing, when the number of infectious disease cases had become so small that the wards were better put to other uses.
