Other information

In 1903 prior to the construction of the hospital building in Common Road, the Contagious Diseases Hopsital was located in a building at the end of Drakehead Lane, between Conisbrough and New Edlington (ref:OS map, 1903) In 1930 the latter building was known as the Smallpox Hospital. The portion of Common Road where the main Isolation Hospital was located was known as Crookhill Road by 1930 (ref: OS map, 1930)
