Other information

The Royal Victoria Hospital began as a 'hospital for incurables' at premises in Jedburgh Road. It provided long-term nursing care for a small number (usually about 50) terminally-ill patients from 1900-1948 when it was transferred to the NHS. Developments after this date included the addition of a geriatric ward in 1959
