Wetherby Union Workhouse was built in 1863 to replace an earlier building in North Street. After the establishment of the National Health Service in 1948 it took the name of Wharfe Grange Hospital. The Hospital closed in 1993. 1. 1864 - 1953 Register of births in Wetherby Workhouse. Penultimate entry 27 Dec 1924.
