Established as The Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children, Banstead and opened in 1948. Prior to 1948, hospital had been used as a Military Hospital during the war. Queen Elizabeth Hospital became a satellite of the Manor Hospital, Epsom in 1973 - both former London County Council institutions. Closed in c1994 The Hospital was under construction in the late 1930s until was interveneed. It was built on the site of the Gaston family's home in Banstead Woods
