See G.S Nightingale, 'Warley Hospital, Brentwood. The first hundred years 1853 - 1953' (typeset, 1953), of which a photocopy is avaiable at the Essex Record Office, Chelmsford. From 1974 the hospital lay geographically within the Chelmsford District of the Essex Area Health Authority, but in common with other hospitals in Brentwood was administered by the Barking and Havering Area Health Authority.
