In 1929 there were 114 patients and 63 out-pensioners, who received £20 each. Patients were admitted either by paying £1 weekly in advance, or by nomination by three govenors and election by subscribers in October. Votes were carried forward. Insanity, idiocy, imbecility, epilepsy and cancer were ineligible for admission, although the latter two were eligible for pensions.
