Other information

The initial offer to London County Council to found the hospital was made by Henry Maudsley in 1907. Buildings were completed in 1915 but they were taken over as a military hospital. The London County Council Mental Hospital was opened in 1923. The hospital amalgamated with The Bethlem Hospital.
