Other information
The Fulford and Maternity Hospitals were two hospitals, with separate nursing staffs, but sharing the same site and some facilities, They were created out of a war-time hutted hospital, formerly a military and later a prisoner of war hospital, which was handed back to the Minstry of Health in 1949. The Maternity Hospital succeeded the maternity hospital at Acomb, York, see Acomb Hospital
A short history of the hospital to be included in forthcoming guide to hospital records at the Borthwick Institute (in progress 1999) by K Webb.
