Other information

The Castle Hill Convalescent Home was presented to the Royal Victoria Infirmary on 1 November 1933 by Geoffrey Stirling Newall JP in memory of his father and mother. It closed on 26 January 1989. The building seems subsequently to have been used by the Mental Health Unit of Gateshead Health Authority.
