In 1929 the hospital had 134 beds with an average occupancy of 123. Of these, six were reserved for isolation cases and six for eye cases. The hospital contained X-ray, light treatment, massage and dental departments, including the London County Council dental centre. The was a seaside branch at Bexhill, purchased and partly maintained by the readers of 'Little Folks'. The hospital ran a Samaritan Fund and a Convalescent Fund, and was affiliated to the Federated Superannuation Scheme. [Burdett's Hospitals and Charities, 1929] The hospital was one of the Queen Elizabeth Children's Hospitals from 1942 to c.1975, at which time it was the only remaining hospital from the original group.
