First children's hospital opened in Sunderland 1867; amalgamated with the Infirmary 1887-1900. 1902 land offered for a new children's hospital. Building began 1908, and it was opened in March 1912 Absorbed by Sunderland Royal Infirmary between 1969 and 1979.
