Other information

Scottish Women's Hospitals were the contribution of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies to the war effort. They were staffed only by women. Dr Elsie Inglis had the original idea for such a field unit and acted as Liaison Officer for the London administrators by visiting the units in Europe. After peace was declared the Hospitals were wound up.
