Response
CAB 301/673 and CAB 301/676 were retained by the Cabinet Office in 2010 under section 3(4) of the Public Records Act, and their retention was extended in 2019/2020.
Based on the information available to The National Archives the Cabinet Office has retained these records under a Security and Intelligence Instrument. No application is made to the Advisory Council on National Records and Archives (ACNRA) if records fall under this instrument. Government departments will independently identify records where retention is required in these cases.
Below, you can find information relating to the retention of these records in 2010. This information has been extracted from a transfer summary document and therefore includes information relating more broadly to the transfer/retention of records in the CAB 301 series, within the piece range 645-849.
