Request

I am writing to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I am seeking information from the National Archives about how their information systems are hosted. I am specifically referring to https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/.

  1. Is the system hosted on-premises by the National Archives, by a commercial hosting provider (e.g., a cloud provider such as Amazon Web Services), a combination of the two, or via some other arrangement?
  2. If a commercial hosting provider is involved, please supply the name of the provider(s).
  3. Since when have the current hosting arrangements been in place?

Outcome

Information withheld.

Response

Disclosing software systems, product names, vendors and versions may reveal information that would prejudice the prevention or detection of crime and is exempt under section 31 (1) (a) of the FOI Act.
