Warrant from Robert Baker, Justice of the Peace, for the arrest of the Cato Street plotters (catalogue reference HO 44/4/44)

Transcript

These are to require you and every of you to take and bring before me or some other of his Majesty’s Justice of the Peace for the said County, the bodies of Arthur Thistlewood and thirteen other persons named: Brunt, Hall, Ings, Potter, Palin, Edwards, Strange, Adams, Tidd, Wilson, Davidson, Harrison and Cook of whom you shall have notice. The said Parties being charged before me upon the oath of Henry Hobhouse,  Magistrate,  on suspicion of feloniously assembling with intent to set fire to divers houses and to commit murder upon divers of his Majesty’s subjects. Whereof fail not. Given under my hand and seal the 23rd day of February 1820.
