All Pals Together – Homeschool session

What to expect in this online session

Students will spend time in the life of a soldier from a Pals Battalion, played by a professional actor, as he talks about his experience of life in the trenches. Students will be invited to chat with Henry during the session. Was it really all mud and blood in the trenches, or did Private Fairhurst see some benefits in what he was doing?

Students will develop their skills of analysis and deepen their understanding of evidence by examining documents.

Joining the session

You only need a microphone, large screen and webcam to take part. Interactive activities encourage students to discuss their ideas and work in groups using high-quality materials provided in advance by The National Archives' Education team.

Please note that in accordance with our safeguarding policy, and to avoid unnecessary disruption, parents/carers or guardians must stay with the participant for the duration of the online session. Our Remote Safeguarding Policy will be sent to you, along with your booking confirmation.
