About
Emmajane is responsible for leading our Curation and Engagement Directorate. Her directorate develops our knowledge of the collections, creates on-site, online and remote engagement programmes, and curates compelling experiences and content for the public and wider educational audiences. This includes collections expertise and academic research, education, outreach, events and exhibitions. She is also responsible for marketing, media and communications, audience insight and the on-site visitor experience, including our activities with volunteers.
Emmajane has been working in the museum, gallery, archive and cultural heritage sector since 1999. She holds a degree in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Museology. She was previously Director of Learning and Visitor Experience at the Victoria and Albert Museum and was Chair of Kids in Museums for five years, an Arts Council-funded charity that supports museums, galleries, historic sites and archives to be as accessible as possible to families and young people.
