Other information

The Infirmary was opened in 1898 as a branch of the Victoria Infirmary, Northwich, but it appears to have developed as a separate institution shortly therafter with its own Board of Management. In 1939 it had 36 beds. With the advent of the National Health Service in 1948, it became part of the North and Mid-Cheshire Hospital Management Committee, and was transferred to the South Cheshire HMC in 1968. It was closed in 1972.
