This database provides information on the existence and
location of the records of UK hospitals. There are currently over 2,800
entries, which have been compiled by the Wellcome Library. These can be found by searching the database.

The dataset was last updated in 2012 (many fields may be more out of date than this) and this should be borne in mind when using it - particularly the location of records may have changed. You can search Discovery to find records held here at The National Archives and in other UK archives.
Information includes:
The administrative details of the hospitals, and their status or type
The
location and covering dates of administrative and clinical records
The
existence of lists, catalogues or other finding aids
Links to
some online hospital catalogues previously on Access to Archives (A2A) and now on Discovery
The Wellcome Trust is an independent research-funding
charity that aims to improve human and animal health. In the will of Sir Henry
Wellcome he specifically mentioned the study of the history of medicine as a
topic to be fostered. The Wellcome Trust has since maintained this tradition
through its support for research into the history of medicine. Further
