The Parliament which originally opened on 28 April 1539 re-assembled at Westminster on 12 April 1540, sitting until 24 July. On 8 May it granted four fifteenths and tenths, minus the standard deduction, to be paid over four years on 4 February of each year (in 1541, 1542, 1543, 1544). At the same time it also granted a subsidy to be collected over two years.
