Report of Martha Appleton's accident, 1859
| This report form gives details of the accident suffered by Martha
Appleton. She states that the accident happened when a 'giddiness'
came over her. It is possible that this was due to tiredness, as the
accident happened very early in the morning. Despite factory legislation,
children Martha's age were still officially allowed to work 10 hours
