Description FreeHand, created by Altsys Corporation in 1988 and licensed to Aldus Corporation, is a discontinued vector graphic editor for Windows and Mac. Uses include professional illustration, desktop publishing and web content. FreeHand versions 1 though to 4 were released by Aldus, later versions were developed by Macromedia. In 2005 Adobe Systems acquired Macromedia but FreeHand development has been discontinued. The first two versions were released only for Mac OS and have no official extensions.
