This screen displays the key catalogue information for a given catalogue reference:
- Covering dates
- Scope and Content description
- Closure status: whether the records are open or closed to the public
- Held by: name of the archive or institution that holds the records. Bear in mind that some records in The Catalogue are not held by The National Archives. For example, some are at The National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth or The Natural History Museum Archives in London
- Restrictions on use (for example 3 working days notice to produce for records stored off site)
To browse the catalogue from any entry, click 
Only pieces (generally a whole box, volume) or items (generally a file or bundle) may be orderable. Click on to make an online order for copies or to place an advanced order to access the records in person.
Bookmarks and Saved searches: users logging in with their reader's ticket number can save entries as personal bookmarks or searches to be run from their homepage at a later date.
