British soldiers, dressed in jungle fatigues

"British soldiers, dressed in jungle fatigues" by Clive Uptton, 1939-1945

Catalogue ref: INF 3/1244Links to the Catalogue

British soldiers, dressed in jungle fatigues, and carrying a mixture of Thompson sub machine guns and Bren guns, patrolling in jungle swamp. The commentary at the foot of the image asks Uptton to make the main figure a little more ‘urgent', more clearly ‘attacking', rather than ‘asking to be shot at', whilst also asking for the background to be altered to fit printing requirements.

This image is most likely from later in the war, when greater emphasis was switching from Europe to the final defeat of the Japanese in the Pacific theatre of operations.
