This is a calculation by the statistician Gregory King, headed 'Compute the number of people at 6,000,000 of all sorts which answers to 1,200,000 at 5 people to a house'. Here, he has taken a hypothetical population figure of six million and calculated age breakdowns and other figures on this basis. |
