A copy of Lord Nelson’s Letter to the Governor of Revel 11th May 1805
Sir,
I have the honor to inform your Excellency that it is my intention to Anchor with a Squadron of His Britaic Majestys Ships in the outer bay of Revel, I have therefore to request that your Excellency will permit the Squadron’s being Supplied with everything it may want, such as Fresh Beef, vegetables &c &c, a Note of which I have given Capt [ain] Thesiger, I have wrote to Count Pahlen by the lugger Of my intention to come to Revel. I have to request that your Excellency will have the goodness to forward to Petersburgh in the most expeditious manner my dispatches for the Chargee des Affaires of H[is] B[rittani]c Majesty at the Court of Petersburgh I have the honour to remain Your Excellencys most obedient Servant
