St George 5 May 1801

My Dear Sir,

My health neither more nor less than a Consumption which if I do not very soon change the climate will most assuredly carry me out of this world, makes the high honor conferr’d upon me of the less pleasant nature as I cannot enjoy it, I hope in a fortnight if I can hold out so long that something decisive must take place I will go to Russia and do my best at least show them that we have a fleet in the Baltic, but I know not what Sir Hyde has pledged himself for, or if any orders [ thing] Russia have been sent him, I rather think that Sweden is not to be attacked but if I find the Swedes
