a Bear came close to the Ship on the Ice but on the Peoples going towards him he went away
NB: Came Long Side at 11 AM 3 Large Bears the Dam and 2 Whelps. D[itt]o Shott them all three and Skin[ne]d then found the Large One to Me[a]sure 6 foot 9 Inches. from head to Tail.
