During the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, we asked you to get involved in our social media mass participation campaign, which began on 1 June. #TheQueenVisited was our call to action on Twitter, with other archives, cultural institutions, and members of the public from across the world invited to share photos, ephemera, and stories relating to Royal visits from the last 70 years. Search #TheQueenVisited on Twitter to find out what people contributed!
Please note that contributions to this thread in the form of using the #TheQueenVisited hashtag, Replies, Quote Tweets, and Re-Tweets will be archived for the UK Government Web Archive (nationalarchives.gov.uk/webarchive)
In the thread we’ll be reminding contributors of Twitter’s private information policy, which means that users should not share photos of private individuals unless they can be seen to be at a large public gathering – please bear this in mind when sourcing photos.
In line with Twitter’s terms of service, users are responsible for any content they provide. They are reminded not to submit images that might infringe someone else’s copyright.
