May 2013

Request:

I understand that the Environment Agency's accreditation as a member of the Information Fair Trader Scheme should have been re-verified by the Office of Public Sector Information no later than November 2012.

Are you able to confirm that the Environment Agency's IFTS accreditation was re-verified in 2012 (or subsequently)?

I would also like to request a copy of any unpublished IFTS report prepared by OPSI in 2012 or 2013 in respect of the Environment Agency. Please treat this as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations.

Outcome:

Information not held

Response:

The National Archives, through the Office of Public Sector Information, set a guideline date for re-verifying the Environment Agency under the Information Fair Trader Scheme which was indeed three years on from the last on-site visit i.e. November 2012. However, the on-site re-verification is scheduled for June of this year. As drafting of the IFTS report will take place after our site visit, no report has been prepared as yet.

As such, we do not hold the information that you have requested. However, all IFTS reports, which incorporate action plans, are published on this web page http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/information-management/ifts/members.htm. The most recent report for the Environment Agency can be viewed here http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documents/information-management/environment-agency-ifts-report.pdf.
