I receivd your letter of the 29th ult in answer to mine respecting the case of my Mother Eliz Walker of Lowdham stating that you would write to the Southwell board of Guardians for their Consideration I have not heard what was the result no further than the relieving Officer states that he will not give her any thing she must go to the workhouse and I think it a unfeeling thing to force her to go to the Workhouse when she has a house and asks for no more than 1/6 per week she has had it about four years since the death of her husband and I hope you will take it into Consideration to allow it her as I think it a hard Case for a woman 65 years of Age to be forced into the workhouse when she can do with that Small Allowance it will cost more if she has to go into the workhouse which she will have to do for she is now in a way of starvation.
